As Waiting Staff (Steward) with Sodexo at MCTC, Berechurch Road, Colchester CO2 9NU, you'll play an important role in supporting military personnel every day. From serving meals to helping deliver functions and maintaining a welcoming dining environment, your work will make a real difference to the experience of those living and working on site. Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing the dining room ready for breakfast, lunch and evening service
  • Serving food and beverages with a friendly and professional approach
  • Preparing teas, coffees and refreshments throughout service
  • Operating tills and handling cash accurately
  • Replenishing food, drinks and service areas
  • Clearing tables and maintaining a clean, welcoming dining environment
  • Supporting with functions and special events across the Mess
  • Assisting with bar service, including occasional evening bar shifts
  • Carrying out cleaning duties including polishing, vacuuming and maintaining high hygiene standards
  • Working safely and following food safety, health & safety and company procedures at all times

What You’ll Need:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Enjoys working as part of a team
  • Reliable, organised and willing to learn
  • Takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
  • Comfortable working in a busy hospitality environment
  • Catering, hospitality, waiting staff or bar experience (desirable but not essential)
