Nursery Apprentice / Colchester (CO3 4RG)
Second Steps Day Nursery Colchester (CO3 4RG) are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to work alongside staff in our nursery.
The successful applicant will complete their Level 2 (or L3 depending on their current qualification) in childcare through an apprentice programme with our training provider: VTS.
This is the perfect opportunity for someone wanting a future career in childcare, with on-the-job training.
You will have the support of the management team and experienced staff members during this time.
This position is for 30 hours per week to allow our apprentices to complete their additional studies.
Duties
- Planning stimulating activities to help the children in your care thrive and learn.
- Supporting both the room leader and other practitioners in the continual improvement of the setting.
- Keeping children safe and promoting their well-being.
- Working collaboratively within a supportive team.
- Adhering to all the policies and procedures of the setting.
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with children, families, colleagues and external agencies.
- Completing a qualification in childcare, alongside working 25 - 30 hours per week.

This position will offer an apprentice wage of £8.00 per hour as a starting salary, as per the government guidelines.
