The Role
As a 3.5 Tonne Delivery Driver, you'll be responsible for delivering furniture directly to customers' homes and ensuring every delivery is completed safely, efficiently and professionally. Working as part of a delivery team, you'll play an important role in providing an excellent customer experience while ensuring all goods are handled and delivered with care.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Safely driving a 3.5 Tonne delivery vehicle in line with company procedures and road safety regulations
- Delivering furniture to customers' homes according to a scheduled delivery route
- Loading and unloading furniture safely and efficiently
- Assisting with the delivery and installation of furniture within customers' homes
- Working alongside a crew mate to complete daily delivery schedules
- Handling furniture carefully to minimise the risk of damage
- Providing friendly, professional and helpful customer service at every delivery
- Communicating with customers regarding deliveries and ensuring they have a positive experience
- Completing vehicle safety checks before starting each shift
- Ensuring delivery paperwork and relevant documentation is completed accurately
- Reporting any vehicle, delivery or customer issues promptly
- Following all company health and safety and manual handling procedures
- Maintaining a clean and professional delivery vehicle
- Supporting the wider distribution team with loading, unloading and warehouse duties when required
- Undertaking regular manual handling and heavy lifting as part of the role
About You
We're looking for reliable, hardworking and customer-focused drivers who take pride in their work and enjoy being part of a team. To be successful, you'll have:
- A valid UK driving licence suitable for driving a 3.5 Tonne vehicle
- Previous experience in a delivery, driving or logistics role
- Good communication and customer service skills
- A professional and friendly approach when dealing with customers
- The ability to work effectively as part of a two-person delivery team
- Good time management and the ability to follow a daily delivery schedule
- A strong understanding of safe driving and manual handling practices
- A positive, flexible and reliable attitude
- Good physical fitness, as the role involves regular heavy lifting and manual handling
- The ability to follow company processes and health and safety procedures
- Previous furniture delivery or warehouse experience is desirable but not essential
