Established in 1988, Apex Pumps is a leading designer and manufacturer of centrifugal pumps. With 30 years of success, we’ve earned an enviable reputation for the quality and endurance of our products. We are now looking for a CNC Setter / Operator to join us on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced CNC Setter or Operator with Mazak and Haas/Fanuc machining expertise to join our well-established and respected manufacturing business. The Role

As a CNC Setter / Operator, you will manufacture precision-engineered components to the highest quality standards within our busy machine shop. Working with Mazak CNC lathes and Mazak and Haas machining centres, you will set up and operate machinery, preparing tooling and fixtures, interpreting engineering drawings and producing precision components from a variety of materials. You will also inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment to ensure they meet quality standards, making tooling and offset adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and maximise production efficiency.

Additionally, you will:

  • Carry out routine machine checks and basic preventive maintenance
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Identify and resolve machining issues
  • Improve manufacturing processes and reduce future production issues

About You

To be considered as a CNC Setter / Operator, you will need:

  • At least three years' experience as a CNC Setter and/or Operator within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Experience setting and operating CNC turning and/or milling machines
  • Good working knowledge of Mazatrol and Haas/Fanuc control systems
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • An engineering apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification
