However, there is flexibility on the working days provided the schedule includes Saturday and Sunday coverage. The role is 39 hours per week, with a 1 hour early finish on the final working day of the week.

Job Purpose

The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for the strategic and tactical planning of manufacturing and distribution activities, ensuring effective coordination and alignment of supply chain operations.

Key Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Prepares production plans for supplying sites as directed.
  • Raising, managing and receipting purchase orders.
  • Provides analytical support for determining short- and long-term capacity needs.
  • Prepares sales, production, and inventory for areas of responsibility as required.
  • Works continually with the production sites to ensure capacity and materials are available to achieve inventory targets.
  • Advises production sites on production scheduling changes as deemed necessary.
  • Develops capacity plans, maintaining a tracking log of all activities.
  • Assists in production planning for other areas of the supply chain as required.
  • Communicate production dates and finished goods availability to the Commercial Division, demand planners and other interested parties.
  • Resolve potential shortage situations by proactively managing inventory levels at warehouses.
  • During periods of product shortage, facilitate execution of product allocation plans.
  • Pro-actively manage inventory turns and product movement by date code.
  • Provide necessary reports and analysis needed to enable the Sales & Operational Planning process and participate in S&OP meetings.
  • Track supply by market, surplus/short and old age inventories; communicate findings to facilitate a resolution of issues identified.
  • Work closely with all departments to proactively manage the new productintroduction process
  • Identifyand execute opportunities to improve supply chain efficiency

Health, Safety & Environment Responsibilities

  • Know Health & Safety responsibilities, the site rules, and bring to the attention to issues that could affect own, or others Health, Safety & Welfare.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times
  • Fully comply with all signage, notices, warning labels etc.
  • Bring to the attention of your manager any hazards or unsafe conditions that may lead to injury, ill health, or damage.
  • Participate fully in all Health, Safety & Environmental training sessions, and Safety Briefings / Toolbox Talks
  • Not misuse of interfere with anything provided to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
  • Ensure a good standard of housekeeping is maintained within the working environment to minimise the risk of injury to themselves or others
  • Correctly use and store the protective clothing and equipment provided.
  • Report all injuries, near misses, and instances of ill health that occur to them at work and obtain the necessary First Aid Treatment.
  • Help in the investigation of accidents in order to prevent recurrence.
  • Set a good example of safe behaviour, particularly to new starters and young persons.

Food Safety & Quality Responsibilities

  • Works to required food safety & quality standards
  • Observes the site personal hygiene requirements.
  • Ensure that correct procedures are being followed, paperwork is being filled out correctly and the quality of product is good
  • Ensuring working area is clean and tidy
  • Encourage good practice and challenge poor practice relating to CAYG (Clean as you go) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)

Knowledge, Skillsand Experience

  • Degree level (business, logistics or related field).
  • Background in master scheduling, forecasting and planning.
  • Experience using computer packages, such as spreadsheets and databases, Outlook and Microsoft Office suite, Advanced Excel,
  • Knowledge of key inventory performance metrics, turns, margin contributions etc.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and numeracy skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and extreme accuracy.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • The ability to work under pressure to deadlines; high stress tolerance
