An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Clinical Support Worker to join the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Theatre team at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holder will work as part of the multidisciplinary theatre team, supporting registered practitioners to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care to women undergoing obstetric and gynaecological procedures.
The role is key to ensuring the efficient running of theatre services and maintaining high standards of patient safety, dignity, and experience.
Duties will include supporting patient preparation, equipment management, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and assisting with theatre turnaround.
The post holder will be expected to work flexibly across elective and emergency theatre activity.
Working closely with the wider multidisciplinary team, the role contributes to infection prevention, patient safety, and quality care in line with Trust policies.

- Work as part of the multidisciplinary theatre team to support safe, effective care within Obstetrics and Gynaecology Theatres.
- Assist with patient preparation and care, ensuring dignity, privacy, and comfort at all times.
- Support the smooth running of theatre lists by preparing equipment, instruments, and consumables.
- Contribute to efficient theatre turnaround, including cleaning, restocking, and preparing the environment between cases.
- Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control in line with Trust policies.
- Assist with patient positioning, transfers, and manual handling in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Support stock management, including checking, ordering, and replenishing supplies.
- Undertake delegated clinical and non‑clinical tasks under the supervision of a registered practitioner.
- Work flexibly across elective and emergency theatre activity, including out‑of‑hours as required.
- Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and well‑organised clinical environment.
- Participate in training, induction, and ongoing development.
