The predicted salary is between 46134 - 56386 £ per year.

The successful applicant will work as part of the Gastrointestinal (GI) Physiology team, providing specialist diagnostic investigations and contributing to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care for patients with upper and lower gastrointestinal disorders. The post holder will be expected to work autonomously within their scope of practice, undertaking specialist GI Physiology investigations, interpreting findings and producing accurate clinical reports to support diagnosis and patient management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform, interpret and report specialist GI Physiology investigations in accordance with local policies, national guidance and professional standards.
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care throughout the diagnostic pathway, ensuring patients are fully informed and supported during procedures.
  • Provide specialist clinical advice and communicate investigation findings effectively to referring clinicians and members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to conservative management services, providing evidence-based patient education and support where appropriate.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team working to support the management of patients with gastrointestinal disorders.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical governance through audit, quality improvement, incident reporting and compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Support service development and innovation to improve patient pathways, service efficiency and quality of care.
  • Participate in the education, training and supervision of trainees, students and other healthcare professionals as required.
  • Maintain professional registration and competence through continuing professional development, ensuring compliance with HCPC standards and departmental mandatory training requirements.
  • Contribute to the effective day-to-day running of the GI Physiology service, supporting colleagues and providing flexibility to meet service needs.
