This is a permanent position, offering 37.5 hours per week at Band 8a.

We are looking for a psychologist who would like to be a valued member of a diverse and dynamic mental health team working with young people and families. The successful applicant will be located within our North Bedfordshire clinic, focusing on adolescents with complex, severe, and enduring mental health problems.

This varied role will include:

  • Provision of specialist advice/consultation/formulation
  • Psychological assessment
  • Liaison with other agencies
  • Psychological interventions
  • Clinical supervision
  • Teaching of staff and/or students

The ideal candidate will have experience as a clinical psychologist with a working knowledge in the field of child and adolescent mental health, and confidence in crisis/risk management.

Psychologists play a major role within the team and the wider CAMH service in Bedfordshire, holding senior positions that shape clinical strategy and service delivery. Opportunities for individual development in clinical and leadership skills will be available, including time spent in other specialist clinical areas such as Looked After Children, Eating Disorders, and the Neurodevelopmental Team.

Our clinically-led service is committed to continuously improving the experience and quality of care we offer our families. We encourage curiosity and innovation in our clinicians to do the very best for our service users.

The successful candidate will receive a robust induction programme and regular clinical and management supervision. You will also be invited to a countywide forum for psychologists to develop and maintain links with colleagues across various teams.

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive. We seek individuals who embody these qualities in their support for service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues.

This post is based in Bedford, Bedfordshire, close to the M1 and easily accessible by rail and car from North London, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Northamptonshire.
