Guy’s Assisted Conception Unit (ACU) provides a comprehensive range of fertility services, including assisted conception, diagnostic testing, preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), and fertility preservation. Established in 1991, Guy’s ACU is one of the UK’s largest assisted conception clinics, delivering both NHS-funded and self-funded fertility care.

Our state-of-the-art laboratory is equipped with advanced time-lapse incubator technology and cutting-edge equipment, enabling us to provide the highest standards of patient care. We operate a seven-day service, supporting patients undergoing funded treatment while also attracting national and international self-referrals.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic Embryology team. We are seeking high-calibre, focused professionals who are committed to excellence in patient care and laboratory practice. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to undertake training in all routine andrology and embryology procedures, while also contributing to the training and development of new laboratory team members.

In addition, you will perform a range of administrative, diagnostic, and support activities that are essential to delivering a high-quality service. The successful candidate will work closely with the Embryology team and the wider Assisted Conception Unit (ACU) to deliver a range of activities that support the services provided at Guy’s ACU. This includes assisting with assisted conception treatments, diagnostic testing, PGT-M and PGT-SR, and fertility preservation.

The Assisted Conception Unit (ACU) offers an attractive and stimulating working environment for motivated scientists. We recognise the value of our staff and are committed to supporting their professional growth through a range of academic and practical training opportunities. These may include career development programmes, advanced embryology training, and embryo biopsy training, enabling you to contribute to one of the largest PGT programmes in the UK. There is also potential to further develop specialist skills and take on additional responsibilities as part of your ongoing career progression within the unit.

We operate a seven-day service, providing care for patients undergoing both funded and self-funded fertility treatment, and attract referrals from across the UK and internationally. Each year, the unit performs approximately 2,000 IVF/ICSI treatment cycles, including around 500 PGT cases, as well as a further 1,700 frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycles.

The successful candidate will undertake a full range of routine andrology and embryology procedures, including Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) following appropriate training. They will also play an active role in supporting the training and development of new laboratory team members, contributing to the delivery of a high-quality and patient-centred service.
