The predicted salary is between 37035 - 45265 Β£ per year.

To be responsible for the development, detailed planning and delivery of training courses, workshops and ad hoc sessions to the clinical coding department and to develop and lead an in-house training programme.

Deliver training and induction to all new staff in clinical coding and advise the Clinical Coding Manager on the best means to ensure the on-going training.

To monitor the progress of all coders, give them support and guidance, and highlight individual training needs.

Ensure that all training sessions adhere to national coding standards and coders update and maintain their relevant coding manuals.

To organise, train and work alongside staff in the use of existing Coding Classifications ICD10 and OPCS 4.

As directed by the Head of Clinical Coding, liaise and attend meetings with clinicians and senior managers on a regular basis, to ensure that defined data quality standards are met and maintain on-going expertise.

To take part in the induction of new junior doctors and in awareness and training sessions concerning the clinical coding service, promoting a wider understanding amongst other healthcare professionals.

To support, advise and mentor trainee clinical coders.

To check trainee coders work before it is put onto the system.

To support, advise and train clinical coding staff in the appropriate use of medical terminology and the extraction of information from the health record.

To actively review the training requirements of the coding team, supporting their progression towards the National Clinical Coding Qualification.

To provide coaching for individual coders.

To develop and deliver effective training to other staff within the trust to increase awareness and compliance with coding rules, including the development of in-house training materials.
