Would you like the opportunity to join an innovative, developing Occupational Therapy Service? If so, we are looking to recruit an Occupational Therapy Technician to work within the Learning Disabilities Service, supporting the specialist work of the Occupational Therapists (OT’s). This is a countywide, community based team and you will be assisting the OT’s by helping to complete assessments and provide intervention for adults who have a learning disability.
You will be responsible for providing specialist Occupational Therapy intervention under the guidance of the OT team, as well as working independently on a day to day basis in a variety of settings. This is a 12-month fixed-term development opportunity designed to provide relevant experience and skill development within the team. The successful candidate will be supported to develop the knowledge, skills and experience required for future career progression, including the opportunity to apply for occupational therapy apprenticeship opportunities should they become available.
CAR DRIVER WITH BUSINESS INSURANCE AND FULL UK LICENSE IS ESSENTIAL.

You will work closely and collaboratively with occupational therapists, service users and their carers to contribute to assessment, develop and deliver person-centred, goal-focused intervention plans across a range of community settings.
The role will focus on supporting individuals to identify and work towards meaningful goals, maximising their independence and enhancing functional abilities in everyday activities, including self-care, vocational tasks, domestic responsibilities and leisure pursuits. You will play a key role in promoting recovery, independence and participation, using a strengths-based approach in line with occupational therapy principles.
We are a dynamic and forward thinking team that actively encourages and supports professional and service development. Regular managerial and professional supervision will be provided and you will have monthly opportunities to participate in the service’s OT CPD events and shape service development through quality improvement. Professional development and training are actively encouraged through the appraisal process.
Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.
