This specialist law firm has built a strong reputation for acting on complex and sensitive disputes involving public bodies and education matters. Due to continued growth, the firm is looking to recruit a Civil Litigation Solicitor to join an established team handling a varied caseload of SEND and public law-related disputes.
Your new role
You will manage your own caseload of education and civil litigation matters, advising clients throughout tribunal and court proceedings. The role will involve handling SEND Tribunal claims, supporting individuals involved in disputes with public authorities, preparing legal documentation, instructing counsel where required and undertaking advocacy where appropriate. You will work closely with experienced lawyers within a collaborative team and play a key role in the continued development of the department.
What you’ll need to succeed
You will be a qualified solicitor (NQ-2 PQE) with experience of contentious legal work gained during your training contract or post-qualification. Previous exposure to civil litigation, education law, public law or tribunal proceedings would be advantageous, although a genuine interest in developing within these specialist areas is equally important. Strong drafting, client care and organisational skills are essential.
