Immediate start. Monday to Thursday, 9am-5pm
and Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced
Purchasing Manager or Senior Buyer looking to take the next step in their career. The role will involve managing a small buying team whilst remaining hands-on with purchasing, stock control, forecasting, materials planning, supplier management and expediting.
The successful candidate will have proven experience placing
large volumes of stock orders whilst working to strict deadlines and lead times. Strong ERP/MRP and advanced Excel skills are essential.
Main Duties:
- Manage and develop a team of two Buyers.
- Place large-volume stock orders while meeting strict deadlines and lead times.
- Manage supplier relationships, quality and delivery.
- Oversee forecasting, materials planning, estimating and expediting.
- Manage fast-moving stock and buy-to-order purchases.
- Analyse purchasing and stock data.
- Use ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Contribute to regular management meetings.
Requirements:
Purchasing, Buying, Procurement and Stock Control.
- Experience ordering
large volumes of stock to strict deadlines.
- Experience with forecasting, materials planning and expediting.
- Previous experience managing or developing Buyers.
- Advanced Excel and database skills.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive, hands-on approach.
- Experience within
distribution, ecommerce, engineering or manufacturing advantageous.
