An excellent opportunity has arisen at London North West for an enthusiastic Cardiac Physiologist to join our Cath Lab/Echo/Pacing team. As a Cardiac Physiologist, you will be proficient and have developed knowledge and skills across a wide range of services including implantation and follow-up of pacemakers and complex devices within Cath Lab. Hold BSE accreditation with relevant experience post accreditation.

A BSc Cardiac Physiology qualification or equivalent is essential and accreditation in cardiac devices (BHRS, EHRA or IBHRE) is desirable. For the Echo role, BSE accreditation is essential. Experienced applicants, who do not hold relevant accreditation may be initially appointed in lower Band 6 depending on experience. They will be expected to achieve full accreditation and qualification within a set time frame with necessary support, with progression to Band 7 upon completion.

As a member of the cardiac physiology team, you will rotate across multiple sites and a wide range of cardiology services. This includes working within the catheter laboratories, supporting procedures such as angiography, PCI, CTO interventions, IVUS, OCT, FFR, EKOS, Inari, and pacing including complex device implantation.

Our department delivers a comprehensive pacing service, providing device implantation and full follow-up for single and dual-chamber pacemakers as well as complex devices, offered both remotely and face-to-face. The post holder's role is within Cath Lab/Echo and to also undertake the full range of invasive and non-invasive procedures carried out within the Cardiac Investigation service at London Northwest University Healthcare NHS Trust.

The postholder will play a key role in developing the skills and confidence of junior team members, including Cardiac Associate Practitioners, Trainee Cardiac Physiologists, and resident doctors undertaking echocardiography training. They will contribute actively to teaching, supervision, and day-to-day mentorship, helping to shape a supportive and high-quality learning environment.

In addition, they will be fully competent to work independently across all service areas and will take responsibility for the smooth daily operation of whichever clinical area they are assigned to. This includes ensuring high standards of practice, effective workflow, and a safe, patient-focused service.

We are a friendly and supportive department, with a strong ethos of encouragement and support for staff with their ongoing CPD. We are committed to providing our patients with the highest level of care possible. Attendance at conferences or further training will be encouraged.

London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWH) cares for the people of Brent, Ealing, Harrow and beyond. Our team of more than 8,200 clinical and support staff serve a diverse population of almost one million people.
