The F & B assistant role is to provide a food and beverage service to our hotel guests, members of our Spa and the general public, ensuring excellent service and maximising each sale opportunity for the department and facility.
Main responsibilities include:
Operational
- To have a thorough knowledge of all menus and beverages available. This is to include the preparation and service of all products.
- To review Daily bookings, function sheets and restaurant reservations as required.
- To offer guests menus and information on daily specials, menus changes, allergy information, as well as make suggestions and answer any questions relating to the food and beverage operation.
- To process orders through the till/check system and serve as appropriate. To ensure that all charges are raised for food and beverage consumed, in accordance with procedures laid down.
- To check orders to ensure they are complete and adhere to company standards
- To serve alcoholic beverages and non-alcoholic beverages as requested, adhering to the weights and measures and licensing laws
- To clear tables using trays and resetting and ensure your work areas are always kept clean and tidy.
- To complete opening and closing procedures as set down by the company.
- To assist in training of new or less experienced members of the team as required.
- To support and implement all company initiatives and programmes as requested, as well as maximising every opportunity to 'up sell' to the guests.
- To set function rooms as per function sheet, serve and clear rooms as instructed
- To suggest ways of enhancing services in order to provide superior service whenever possible
- To be fully aware of current liquor licensing laws and ensure that these are strictly adhered to.
