Secondary School Science Technician Full-Time | Term Time Only (plus inset days) | Permanent | Chichester | £15 - £18 per hour

We are seeking a dedicated Science Technician to join a friendly and supportive team at an independent SEN school.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of practical science lessons for students with a range of additional learning needs.
Working closely with teaching staff, you will help prepare resources, maintain equipment and ensure a safe and stimulating learning environment.
The Role
- Prepare, set up and clear away practical science experiments and demonstrations.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, materials and resources.
- Ensure chemicals and equipment are stored safely and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging practical lessons.
- Manage stock levels and order resources when required.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment and materials.
- Support the smooth day-to-day running of the science department.
About You
We are looking for someone who
- Has a good understanding of science laboratory procedures and safety requirements.
- Is highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Can work independently and as part of a team.
- Has excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Is confident supporting staff in a busy educational environment.
- Has previous experience as a Science Technician or within a laboratory setting.
- Has previous experience working with secondary students and in an SEN Setting (Desirable)
- Is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.
