GCSE Maths Lecturer to join our team in Chichester.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality GCSE Maths lessons in line with curriculum and awarding body requirements.
  • Assess learner progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Prepare learners for GCSE examinations through effective teaching, revision sessions, and targeted interventions.
  • Differentiate teaching strategies to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities and learning styles.
  • Monitor attendance, achievement, and learner progress, maintaining accurate records in accordance with college policies.
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes learner confidence and success.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, quality improvement initiatives, and departmental meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and student support teams to ensure learners receive the guidance they need to succeed.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
  • Recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, Certificate in Education (Cert Ed), or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET), or willingness to work towards one.
  • Experience teaching GCSE Maths in a school, further education college, or adult learning environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the GCSE Maths curriculum and current examination board specifications.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Experience teaching Functional Skills Mathematics.
  • Experience supporting learners with SEND or additional learning needs.
  • Confidence using digital learning platforms and educational technologies.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
