The Events & Community Manager is responsible for developing and delivering a vibrant programme of activities, events and community initiatives that bring local people together and maximise the use of Hoole Community Centre.

The postholder will build strong relationships with local organisations, hirers, community groups and residents, ensuring the Centre remains a welcoming, inclusive and well-used community hub.

They will lead on planning and delivering events, promoting the Centre through effective marketing and social media, and supporting the growth of community engagement across all areas of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Events & Activities
  • Develop and deliver an annual programme of community events and activities.
  • Plan, organise and coordinate events from concept through to delivery and evaluation.
  • Manage event budgets and ensure activities are delivered within agreed resources.
  • Complete risk assessments and ensure events are delivered safely.
  • Coordinate external suppliers, entertainers, speakers and facilitators.
  • Evaluate events and use feedback to continually improve future activities.
  • Lead the planning and coordination of established activities including the 55 Club.
  • Manage and support volunteers within the Events & Community Team.
  • Community Engagement
  • Build strong relationships with local residents, community groups and partner organisations.
  • Develop new activities and projects that respond to community need.
  • Promote inclusion and encourage participation from people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Represent Hoole Community Centre at local meetings, forums and networking events where appropriate.
  • Marketing & Communications
  • Lead the Centre's social media platforms.
  • Create engaging content to promote events, activities and services.
  • Maintain website content and community noticeboards.
  • Produce promotional materials including posters, newsletters and digital communications.
  • Work to increase awareness of the Centre and encourage greater community participation.
  • General Responsibilities
  • Promote the values and mission of Hoole Community Centre.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers and trustees.
  • Comply with safeguarding, Health & Safety, GDPR and organisational policies.
  • Attend and manage occasional evening and weekend events as required.
  • Provide general office support as requested by the Centre Manager.
