Stables Maintenance Assistant to ensure the upkeep of our stable buildings and surrounding areas, helping to provide a safe, well-maintained environment for our horses and staff.
The Role
As a
Stables Maintenance Assistant , you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of general maintenance tasks across the stables and associated facilities.
Working closely with the Stables Manager, you will help ensure that buildings, equipment and maintenance stores are kept in excellent condition while maintaining high standards of health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out basic repairs to stable buildings and surrounding facilities.
- Perform basic carpentry, plumbing and painting works as required.
- Safely use and maintain a range of hand-held maintenance tools.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of essential maintenance equipment and materials.
- Report equipment faults and major repair requirements to the Stables Manager.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties requested by management within the scope of the role.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone with
- Previous experience in a general maintenance or property maintenance role.
- Basic skills in carpentry, plumbing and decorating.
- Confidence using a variety of hand-held tools.
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
- Good practical skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
- The ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual tasks.
