Senior Financial Analyst (Costing and SLR)
The production and reconciliation of monthly, quarterly and annual costing reports, providing analysis of service performance, profitability and key trends.
Analyse complex financial, activity and workforce data to identify trends, benchmarking opportunities and areas for improvement.
Develop and maintain reports, dashboards and analytical tools for budget holders to support preparation of Business Plans, proposals for service reconfigurations, service developments, option appraisals and cost improvement schemes.
Present costing information and analysis to finance and non-finance stakeholders providing advice, guidance and training where required.
This may involve the presentation of both written and oral reports to groups of non-financial managers using appropriate software (e. g Microsoft Power BI) Produce, maintain and develop the Trusts Patient Level Information and Costing System (PLICS) and Service Line Reporting (SLR) outputs.
Support the preparation and submission of National Cost Collection, PLICS and other statutory costing returns, ensuring robust audit trails and documentation are in place.
Ensure costing methodologies comply with NHS costing standards and accurate cost allocation and mapping structures are in place.
Work collaboratively with clinical, operational, and information teams as well as colleagues within Finance to improve costing accuracy and support service development.
Process, validate and reconcile data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and integrity within the costing system.
Support the development, testing and continuous improvement of costing systems, processes and automated reporting solutions.
Any other financial duties as required, commensurate with the grade of the post.
