Rotational Occupational Therapist, Band 6

Clinical or technical To be able to carry out comprehensive assessments and treatment plans for patients including those with complex presentations/ multipathologies.

To support junior therapists, apprenctices, assistants and students with their caseload as required.

To keep up to date with developments, analysing current research and discussing and implementing changes to your clinical practice.

To attend relevant training in order to maintain competencies Leadership or managerial To be responsible for and actively record your own personal development.

To participate in the appraisal as appraisee and appraiser.

To supervise junior therapists, students and assistants To be a mentor/preceptor for junior staff Information and reporting To participate in clinical audit and the evaluation of clinical effectiveness To undertake and present relevant evidence based projects.

Service improvement To make recommendations when appropriate to changes in practice leading to improvement in the service.

Communications and Engagement To communicate effectively with all disciplines involved in a patients care, both those from within the organisation and those outside to ensure efficient multidisciplinary working To use a range of verbal and non-verbal communication tools to communicate effectively with patient in order to progress treatment programmes.

To maintain accurate records in line with professional body (Royal College of Occupational Therapy), Trust and service standards and policies.

General responsibilities To support the department and organisation by carrying out any other duties as qualified and able.
