Job Role
- To prepare and deliver high-quality meals within the Home, liaising with the home manager and registered nurses ensuring that any special dietary requirements are catered for.
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene in the kitchen in accordance with the company's policies and procedures.
- Manage, train and lead by example to inspire the rest of the kitchen staff.
- A confident leader capable of managing a busy kitchen but also a team player working with the well-being coordinators organising any special events.
Job Description
- Ordering and monitoring supplies to ensure availability and minimise wastage.
- Allocating and coordinating the work of Kitchen Assistants.
- Liaising with other departments within the home, to ensure efficient and effective services.
- Prepare all meals to an excellent standard and quality.
- A complete understanding of Health and safety as well as Food Hygiene issues, COSHH.
- Working within the guidelines relating to cross-infection.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate records in accordance with Cedar Care policies and procedures.
- Have an open, honest, supportive approach.
- Have Excellent culinary skills with a good understanding of special dietary requirements including intolerances, allergies and be familiar with the IDDSI Framework.
Job Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 in Catering and Hospitality (Desired but not essential)
- Experience of working within a Care setting
- Experience of managing a Kitchen
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
