We're looking for a Challenge Events Assistant to join our Fundraising team on an 8-month fixed-term contract, supporting the planning and delivery of our 2027 London Marathon campaign. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role behind the scenes, helping ensure that hundreds of our incredible runners receive outstanding support throughout their fundraising journey.
Working as part of the Challenge Events Team, you'll provide essential administrative and operational support, from managing supporter communications and maintaining accurate records to coordinating event materials and assisting with logistics. You'll also be part of the action at the 2027 London Marathon, supporting event delivery on 24 and 25 April 2027 and helping create an unforgettable experience for our runners, volunteers and supporters.
You'll be an organised and proactive administrator who enjoys working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you'll be confident building relationships with supporters, volunteers and colleagues, providing exceptional service at every stage of the fundraising journey. You'll have strong attention to detail, be comfortable managing multiple priorities, and be able to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team. You'll be confident using Microsoft Office and customer relationship management (CRM) systems to maintain accurate records and support efficient processes. Above all, you'll be enthusiastic, adaptable and willing to go the extra mile, including travelling and working occasional evenings or weekends to support events such as the 2027 London Marathon. Be the first point of contact for our London Marathon participants, providing excellent support throughout their fundraising journey and helping them achieve their goals. Coordinate the administration behind one of our flagship fundraising events, maintaining accurate records and updating our fundraising CRM (Mission). Manage the fulfilment of fundraising materials and merchandise, ensuring runners receive everything they need before event day. Support the planning and delivery of the 2027 London Marathon, including providing on-the-day assistance at the event and other key challenge events. Work closely with colleagues across the Fundraising team to track donations, coordinate meetings and ensure supporter information is recorded accurately. Help deliver an outstanding supporter experience by responding to enquiries via phone, email and post, while contributing to the success of St John Ambulance's challenge events.
