The Best Connection Middlesbrough are currently recruiting for Class 1 ADR drivers for our prestigious Stockton based client.

There is available space for both day and night drivers, as well as an opportunity to tramp if preferred.

This is a seasonal role with a potential permanent contract for the right driver.

This role requires at least 2 years Class 1 driving experience along side a valid ADR certificate.

You will be completing trunk runs delivering gas cylinders.

The role requires no handball or lifting and is strictly driving.

Pay rate

  • £40 night out bonus
  • (4 on 4 off potentially available)

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a Class 1 HGV vehicle in accordance with all road transport and ADR legislation.
  • Deliver and collect gas cylinders from commercial customers.
  • Carry out daily vehicle, equipment and load safety checks before and during each journey.
  • Check cylinders for obvious damage, leaks or defects and report any issues immediately.
  • Ensure all ADR documentation, delivery paperwork, vehicle markings and safety equipment are correct and up to date.
  • Follow safe loading and unloading procedures at customer sites.
  • Provide a professional and courteous service to customers at the point of delivery.
  • Maintain accurate delivery and collection records.
  • Follow company risk assessments, safe systems of work and site-specific procedures.
  • Report accidents, incidents, near misses, damaged cylinders or vehicle defects promptly.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies involving gas cylinders, in line with ADR training and company procedures.
  • Ensure the vehicle and load remain secure throughout the journey.
  • Comply with drivers' hours, tachograph regulations and all relevant transport legislation.
  • Maintain a high standard of vehicle cleanliness and presentation.
  • Represent the company professionally at all times.

Requirements

  • Full

Class 1 (C+E) HGV licence.

  • Valid
  • ADR qualification covering the relevant gas classification
  • Valid Driver CPC
  • Tachograph Driver Card
  • Previous experience transporting gas cylinders or other dangerous goods is highly desirable
  • Good understanding of ADR regulations and safe load securing
  • Strong commitment to health and safety
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Reliable, professional and safety-conscious approach to work
  • Must be able to pass a D&A Test
