Due to an exciting new contract with GSF, Turners (Soham) Ltd is recruiting LGV Class 1 Drivers to be based at Castleford.

Shift pattern: Tuesday - Saturday and Monday - Friday on a rota based system covering trunking and roll cage store deliveries.

As a driver within our GSF operation, you will develop close working relationships with your planning, training, and supervisory team, and driving colleagues in an organisation that strives to create a welcoming and comfortable environment.

You will also be required as a skilled driver to demonstrate professionalism and courteous conduct to our customers.

Our customers require deliveries during the night; therefore, shifts are expected to start at midnight 00:00 onwards and manual handling will be required at all collection and delivery points.

Shift lengths will be governed by needs, capacity, and schedules, meaning that drivers will need to have some flexibility with shift starting and finishing times.

Shift lengths do vary but you are expected to comply with all Tachograph and Working Time Directive regulations at all times.

Turners can offer employment to suitable newly qualified drivers with limited experience, and full training will be provided to these candidates.

We are also keen to engage experienced drivers who can bring expertise and knowledge to our company.

Successful applicants MUST have the following

  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
  • Tail lift experience is desirable, but training will be given.
  • Rates of pay £15.95 per hour, Monday-Friday Plus enhanced rate of £20.64 per hour for Saturdays.
  • Weekly driving style fuel bonus. (Can be up to £25 weekly).
  • Overtime available on optional shift days.
  • Company uniform and PPE provided.
  • Meal and night out allowances. *Subject to HMRC T&C's
  • Company contributory pension scheme.
  • Paid CPC training during employment (Terms applicable - depending on expiry date of current DQC).
  • Driver LGV medical fee allowance.
  • Minimum guaranteed shift hours.
  • Premium truck brands and equipment.
