Carlisle, Cumbria Hybrid Site-Based Role (Minimum 3 Days On Site)
Omexom is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our team and lead the design delivery, a major UK transmission infrastructure project. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development of critical energy infrastructure, working at the forefront of the UK's transition to a more sustainable energy network.
Reporting to the Design Management Regional Lead, you will take ownership of the end-to-end design process, ensuring design programmes, technical assurance activities and multidisciplinary coordination are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing design delivery across a complex HV transmission project.
- Coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and key stakeholders.
- Driving design assurance, compliance and technical governance.
- Managing design change, risk and NEC contract-related processes.
- Supporting client engagement with National Grid, SSE and other industry partners.
- Leading design reviews and ensuring seamless integration between design and construction teams.
What We're Looking For
- Significant experience in HV substation or transmission projects .
- Strong understanding of National Grid standards, assurance processes and project delivery requirements .
- Design management experience within the energy, utilities or infrastructure sectors.
- Knowledge of CDM regulations, design assurance and NEC contracts .
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
