We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Legal Administrative Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative support to our Legal Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a professional approach to join a busy and dynamic legal environment.
In this role, you will provide administrative support to solicitors and other legal professionals, manage correspondence, emails, and telephone enquiries, and prepare, format, and process legal documents and reports. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and electronic filing systems, arranging meetings, coordinating diaries, and taking minutes where required. The role will also involve assisting with case management and document tracking, ensuring compliance with data protection and confidentiality requirements, and supporting the wider team with a range of general administrative duties.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, and be able to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and professionalism. As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to an NRW office within the place base / location above and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.
What you will do:
- Providing support for the Team in any and all administrative tasks required.
- Arranging travel and booking accommodation for the Team.
- Arranging meetings including venue, timings, refreshments logistics and attendance records.
- Assisting in preparation of legal files on paper and digitally.
- Taking accurate minutes at meetings and note actions.
- Assist in the correct formatting of documents for service, preparation of presentations and other material.
- Raising purchase orders following our procurement procedures.
- Ensuring accurate records of advice given and actions taken on all legal files involved with are kept.
- Maintain accurate, confidential and secure legal records in accordance with organisational policies and information governance requirements.
- Assist with other general administrative duties related to the Team.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of administrative processes and ways of working across the team.
- Build positive working relationships with colleagues, internal customers and external stakeholders to support the effective delivery of Legal Services.
- Provide excellent customer service when responding to enquiries and coordinating support activities.
- Undertake health and safety duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post.
- Be committed to Natural Resources Wales Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policy, together with an understanding of how it operates within the responsibilities of the post.
- Be committed to your own development through the effective use of your personal development plan (known as Sgwrs).
- Any other reasonable duties requested commensurate with the grade of this role.
Your qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills:
- You will have the ability to manage paperwork associated with court proceedings.
- Understanding of the work of the Legal Services Team.
- Broad knowledge of NRW and its functions and how the organisation operates.
- Minute taking for high level/Board meetings, clearly recording decisions and actions.
- Able to work well as part of a team and the whole team in high quality legal advice to the whole organisation.
- Excellent customer care skills.
- Good self-management and organisational skills.
Welsh Language level requirements:
- Essential: Level A1 - Entry level

- Successful applicants will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) check.
- Appointments are normally made within 4 to 8 weeks of the closing date.
