This is a genuinely unique and high-profile position in which the post holder will play a direct role in shaping and delivering a No.10 and Prime Ministerial priority in some of the most innovative regions in the world. The Global Talent Taskforce (GTT) sits in the Office for Investment and reports directly to No.10 and HM Treasury. It has been established to support the Government’s growth mission by ensuring that the world’s most exceptional entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, and technical leaders see the UK as the best place to live, work, innovate, invest and build long-term roots.

The GTT provides targeted, concierge-style support to a small number of globally mobile individuals who have the potential to drive significant economic growth, strengthen priority sectors and enhance the UK’s innovation ecosystem. Its work spans pipeline development, pitch and proposition, bespoke account management, policy intelligence gathering and unblocking. This is a rare opportunity to help shape one of the Government’s most high-profile growth priorities from the centre, in a strategic, fast-paced and delivery-focused role.

The position centres on developing and sustaining a strategic network of the most influential thinkers, founders, leaders and innovators internationally. The post holder will ensure the UK attracts, supports, and embeds exceptional, high-profile individuals who are driving global progress in technology, life sciences, clean energy and venture capital investment. These individuals will contribute directly to increased investment, business growth, and the UK’s wider economic competitiveness.

We are seeking two dynamic and ambitious Grade 7s to join the Global Talent Taskforce as Account Managers to deliver the GTT’s account management function. The postholders will be responsible for ensuring priority individuals receive proactive, discreet and high-quality support to increase their ties to the UK, unblock barriers and convert interest into tangible UK outcomes. The successful candidates will set the standard for how clients are triaged, supported, escalated and progressed through the pipeline. They will manage complex and high-profile cases, oversee the development of bespoke packages of support, and work across Whitehall to unblock barriers relating to visas, relocation, tax, investment, sector engagement, research opportunities, professional networks and wider UK settlement.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Account management strategy and delivery
  • Client support, triage and case management
  • Cross-government coordination and external engagement

Develop the GTT account management function, setting the operating model, standards, processes and service expectations for how priority individuals are supported from referral through to successful UK outcomes. Use domestic networks to generate high-quality referrals into the GTT pipeline and gather intelligence on the barriers, incentives and propositions that matter most to globally mobile talent. Ensure account management activity is proactive, strategic and outcome-focused, with clear objectives and a strong grip on next steps, owners, risks and senior interventions. Translate ministerial, No.10 and senior official priorities into practical account management activity, clear case plans and targeted client support working closely with the G6 Deputy Head of GTT and domestic engagement lead. Lead the design and execution of high-profile projects alongside account management work. Maintain a strong grip on the talent master tracker and account management reporting, ensuring senior leaders have accurate, timely and well-judged updates on live cases, emerging risks, outcomes and required interventions. Support the senior leadership team in setting direction, driving high-quality delivery and representing the GTT with senior stakeholders across government and external networks.

Manage end-to-end account management for a portfolio of high-priority individuals in the talent pipeline, ensuring each case has clear objectives, next steps, owners, risks, dependencies and outcomes. Deliver robust triage, eligibility and due diligence processes for account management cases; and engage in high-quality tracking and reporting of live cases. Create bespoke packages of support for individuals, working creatively to address barriers to relocation, investment, expansion or increased UK engagement. Lead regular case review rhythms, ensuring high-priority or high-complexity cases are managed effectively, escalated appropriately and progressed at pace. Ensure account management activity is targeted, systematic and properly prioritised, avoiding duplication with wider DBT, FCDO, OfI and cross-government activity.

Work closely with the Home Office, HM Treasury, DBT, DSIT, FCDO, OfI and other cross-government partners to unblock issues relating to visas, relocation, tax, investment, sector engagement, research opportunities, professional networks and wider UK settlement. Build trusted relationships with relevant teams across government, including policy, immigration, investment, science and technology, international, communications and regional networks. Work closely with the leads across the Global Talent function to ensure account management is fully aligned to policy, communications and external engagement work underway, ensuring a clear and consistent UK pitch. Build and manage trusted relationships with external partners who can support the GTT offer, including professional services firms, investors, founders, universities, accelerators, relocation specialists, sector bodies and other talent-facing networks. Support senior engagement with priority individuals, including preparing briefings, suggested interventions, follow-up plans and clear asks for ministers, No.10, senior officials or external champions where appropriate. Ensure intelligence from account management is fed back into policy development, proposition development and senior decision-making.
