About the role
As an Employability Officer, you’ll foster and enhance relationships with employers across South Wales to secure job opportunities and work placements for program participants. Jobs Growth Wales Plus (JGW+) is a Welsh Government initiative that provides work experience and training opportunities to young people and unemployed individuals, enhancing their employability and supporting job creation in various sectors.
Your impact
- Accountable for identifying sustainable employment opportunities across all programs to achieve optimal participant outcomes.
- Secure quality work placements to build participants' workplace skills and confidence effectively.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with employers to facilitate program success.
- Arrange and conduct timely and accurate health and safety assessments across diverse sectors and workplace settings.
- Ensure workplace appraisals meet legislative standards and conduct risk assessments for specific participant needs.
- Manage the collection of job start evidence to meet contract requirements.
- Represent the organisation at marketing and sales events as needed.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of local and regional labour markets to inform strategies and align with employer needs.
- Actively match participants to suitable job opportunities and work placements.
- Provide ongoing support to participants, addressing barriers to ensure sustained employment success.
What are we looking for?
- Experience of working with unemployed adults and young people.
- Experience in sourcing sustained work job opportunities / work placements and establishing new business.
- Customer service experience in building and maintaining relationships with employers.
- Willingness to undergo a DBS check (cost covered by the company) and EWC registration.
