The Role

Manpower is recruiting a Cook to join a busy public sector catering retail unit in Heath, Cardiff. You will prepare, cook, and serve a variety of dishes, including regenerating pre-prepared meals and producing fresh homemade-style meals such as curries and lasagnes. The role requires maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer service while working as part of a wider catering team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Preparing fresh meals including curries, lasagnes, and other homemade-style dishes
  • Cooking and regenerating menu items such as pizzas and chicken goujons
  • Supporting daily kitchen operations in the main restaurant and canteen
  • Maintaining food quality and ensuring meals are served within agreed timescales
  • Following food hygiene and safety procedures at all times
  • Managing stock rotation and keeping the kitchen clean and organised
  • Delivering excellent customer service to staff and visitors

Previous experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen

Experience preparing fresh, homemade meals

Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene

Reliable, flexible, and able to work evening and weekend shifts

This role is subject to satisfactory references. We are looking for someone who can start within one week.
