Provide strategic leadership for Quality governance within the Trust and ensure that we have robust systems and processes in place. This will involve:
- Working with the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer (CMNO) and Chief Medical Officer (CMO), lead and develop the Quality governance systems across the organisation, operationally managing the corporate subject matter experts and their teams in patient experience, patient safety and clinical effectiveness.
- Deliver a robust evolving quality assurance framework and governance structure within the context of a multi-site model and its associated accountability framework that ensures Ward to Board accountability and visibility of issues that are resolved as close to the patient as possible.
- Ensure a framework is in place to enable the Trust Board to monitor clinical governance and patient safety and experience improvements.
- Develop a governance framework and underpinning structure that responds to national policies/guidance, audit and alerts to support local reporting and monitoring.
- Lead on the Trust’s Quality Assurance Framework ensuring it is consistently applied across the Group and is focused on improving patient quality of care, safety and experience.
- Establish strong and close working relationships between the care organisations and corporate governance teams.
- Lead the development and production of the annual quality account in partnership with the communications team.
- Direct and enhance an integrated serious incident reporting process across the organisation and complaints process.
- Lead on the implementation of Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) across the Trust, effectively engaging with care organisations.
- Develop implementation plans and support for NHS Resolution and CNST compliance across the organisation.
- Take responsibility as the corporate lead for quality for contract discussions with commissioners and contribute to the negotiation and development of quality indicators and CQUINs that relate to quality.
