In this field based role, you’ll work closely with developers and contractors to ensure wastewater infrastructure is installed to adoptable standards and in line with approved designs.
You’ll carry out inspections at key stages, identify and report defects, and oversee their resolution to ensure full compliance and quality delivery.

- A day in the life of a Murphy Wastewater Site Inspector/ Engineer
- Accurately report and identify any remediation work required.
- Assist the Wastewater Adoption Managers with any on-site enquires and site issues.
- Ensure all wastewater assets are fit for adoption with asset records correctly documented.
- Assist and advise engineering solutions with the developer when they arise.
- Ensure a good working relationship with site agents and ground workers.
- Collect and document water assets on the Leep Utilities Asset Database.
- Ensure sewer networks put forward for adoption are constructed and adopted in accordance with approved drawings, and to Design and Construction Guidance.
- Maintain effective site records electronically for all inspections carried out on-site.
- Attend pre construction site meetings with the developer and their groundwork contractors.
- Witness the air test/pressure test of sewer network and pressure pipes and ensure they comply with the requirements set out in the Design and Construction Guidance.
- Plan and independently manage your own site inspection programme to ensure that all construction sites are monitored to the appropriate standard.
- Respond to the changing priorities of individual construction sites, resulting in reprogramming of workload plan.
- Comprehensive knowledge of all wastewater assets and the design and installation process is essential.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, developers and contractors.
- Capable of reading and interpreting “as-laid” drawings accurately.
- Experience in drainage infrastructure construction and adoption processes.
- Knowledge on wastewater pump stations would be an advantage but is not essential.
A full UK driving licence is required for this role.
