We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated part-time (3 days a week) Band 7 Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, Psychotherapist or Clinical Specialist to join our multi-disciplinary CAMHS service for Children Looked After and Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children.
The role involves:
- Undertaking comprehensive mental health assessments
- Delivering evidence-based interventions
- Monitoring outcomes
- Providing consultation and specialist advice to social care, health, education and CAMHS colleagues to support the emotional wellbeing and mental health needs of this vulnerable client group
Applicants must hold either a Doctoral qualification (or equivalent) in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, or a recognised professional qualification in Nursing, Child Psychotherapy, Family Therapy, Creative Therapy, or Social Work with relevant professional registration. Applicants will also be required to demonstrate experience of delivering trauma-informed interventions to children, young people, and/or families.
The role has a primary focus on direct clinical work and includes responsibility for:
- Culturally sensitive and trauma informed assessment
- Care planning
- Implementation of therapeutic interventions (individual, family and group)
- Risk management
- Outcome monitoring
In addition, the post holder will contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, audit, research, training and clinical supervision, supporting the continuous improvement of service delivery and outcomes for children and young people.
The post holder will be a member of the multi-disciplinary Lambeth Children Looked After Mental Health Team (CLAMHS) which is a specialist team within Lambeth CAMHS. The team is located with other Lambeth CAMHS teams at St John's Angell Town School which is a 10 minute walk from Brixton Underground and Train Station (Zone 2). Lambeth is a vibrant, inner city, ethnically diverse community.
