The predicted salary is between 38141 - 46617 Β£ per year.

The role will cover the community mental health team and assertive outreach and will be an opportunity to shape the service, to develop leadership skills within the service and across the Trust through training, individual and peer supervision opportunities.

This role offers the chance to work creatively, offering strengths-focused individual and group interventions that empower and bring lasting change for our clients, in their homes and the local vibrant community of Camden.

The post holder will hold a caseload and work as an Occupational Therapist in adult community mental health services, to provide assessment, plan and implement interventions, evaluate treatment and ensure safe discharge. They will offer time limited interventions with clear goals, using a recovery-focused approach that enhances daily living skills and supports engagement in meaningful and purposeful activities, for service users across the community.

The occupational therapist will work closely with the multidisciplinary team including voluntary sector staff developing a collaborative service offer and offering clinical supervision to other junior staff in the MDT, including Employment Support.

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that falls under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.

  • Manage a caseload of service users in the community and be key clinician for the service.
  • Deliver occupational therapy assessments and interventions including groups and individual.
  • Support people to develop daily living skills, independence, and meaningful activity.
  • Supervise students and other junior staff members including employment support offering support from an OT perspective.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
  • Contribute to recovery-focused care planning and safe discharge.
  • Engage in community-based and home visit work.
  • Be an active member of the community occupational therapy team within the borough and across the care group.
  • Act as deputy to team lead when required, taking on some management tasks and attendance at senior clinical and network meetings.
