An opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Trainee Buyer on a 12 month fixed term contract who is looking to commence a career within the aerospace supply chain sector. The successful individual will join our team of committed people, supporting a busy and fast-moving environment. Training and growth will be underpinned with on-the-job training and mentoring in all aspects of purchasing and delivering supply chain performance.

With development, the role requirements will include:

  • Performing routine day-to-day activities associated with supply chain service requirements, which include administration and expedition of purchase orders and services required.
  • Managing MRP requirements to satisfy production schedules and implementation of appropriate recovery plans.
  • Shortage reporting and resolution.
  • Negotiating with suppliers to obtain optimum price and lead times to meet business requirements.
  • Liaising with customers/suppliers to respond to routine queries regarding contract and supply chain issues.
  • Providing input to project meetings to answer questions concerning contract/supply chain matters.
  • Monitoring and measuring process performance through generation of regular and accurate management information/reports as required.

The ability to build excellent relationships, draft standard letters and responses, proficient use of MS applications, good verbal and written communication and negotiation skills, and being a 'lateral' thinker - someone who can find solutions for problems and 'think outside the box' are essential.
