Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and delivery of equity, equality, diversity and inclusion strategies, ensuring community voices and lived experiences inform policy and service improvements.
  • Coordinate and support community consultation, engagement activities, workshops and events, building positive relationships with residents, community groups and voluntary sector organisations.
  • Undertake research and analyse consultation feedback, demographic data and equality-related information to identify trends, inform decision-making and support service development.
  • Provide advice and guidance on equality legislation, Equality Impact Assessments (Eq IAs) and best practice, supporting teams to embed equity considerations into their work.
  • Assist in the review and improvement of Eq IA processes, monitoring equality-related risks and contributing to the development of performance measures and key indicators.
  • Administer equity-related grant funding programmes, maintaining records, monitoring outcomes and evaluating community impact.
  • Support the operation of inclusion, equality and community advisory panels, including meeting administration, report preparation, recruitment and induction of panel members.
  • Produce reports, presentations and briefings to communicate findings, recommendations and best practice.
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships with internal teams, community organisations, voluntary sector partners and other stakeholders.
  • Keep up to date with emerging equality, diversity, inclusion and community engagement developments, sharing learning and best practice to support continuous improvement.
