The Role

Produce Models, Drawings, and process Surveys relating to the Civil and Structural design of water and wastewater assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, outline and detail designs for projects
  • Production of technical drawings in Autodesk Auto CAD and Autodesk Revit
  • Process surveys
  • Manage drafting process (conceptual, detailed and for construction)
  • Health and Safety Compliance
  • Provide input to the pre-construction Health and Safety Plan, including risk assessments, so that it can be prepared and updated at appropriate intervals
  • Provide input to the Designers Health and Safety File and Quality Assurance File and ensure it is reviewed and updated accordingly
  • Project Management
  • Ensure that the technical content of all work is carried out in accordance with the agreed timescales and budgets
  • Work directly with the supply chain to gather relevant information relating to the technical specification of the project
  • Work closely with team members from other disciplines to ensure the project requirements are met and drive efficient delivery
  • Participate in project reviews relating to design, progress, and construction to receive questions and challenges in a constructive manner
  • Transformation
  • Proactively research, present and implement innovative new processes and ways of working to optimise output. Examples of this are:
  • Paperless design and construction
  • Using Autodesk BIM 360
  • Developing and using standard designs
  • Exploring the use of other software packages such as Autodesk Dynamo

About you

  • Level 5 qualification or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Strong working experience with Autodesk/Auto CAD/Revit
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office 360
  • Self-motivated and takes responsibly
  • Able to accept and deliver constructive challenges

Background experience of working within a Design Consultancy or Survey Company would be beneficial

  • Concrete specification and design
  • Being able to deal with point cloud surveys
  • Experience in Micro stations or Aeco SIM
  • Caring and investing in you
