Burnley Magistrates Court .

This is an excellent opportunity to work within HM Courts & Tribunals Service, supporting the delivery of court services and helping to ensure the smooth running of hearings and administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities

As an Admin Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting court operations and providing excellent customer service to court users, judiciary and legal professionals.

Duties will include

  • Greeting and assisting court users, including judiciary, jurors, solicitors, barristers, police officers and members of the public.
  • Calling parties into court hearings and managing courtroom attendance in line with priority requirements.
  • Providing information regarding court proceedings and supporting court users throughout their visit.
  • Escorting individuals around the court building and administering oaths where required.
  • Keeping court users informed of changes to hearing times and courtroom allocations.
  • Collecting and delivering files and bundles to judiciary and court clerks.
  • Assisting colleagues and judiciary outside of court sitting times.
  • Supporting and navigating court hearings conducted via video link, both onsite and remotely.
  • Preparing hearing rooms, meeting rooms, tribunals and courtrooms for use.
  • Supporting the organisation and administration of hearings and tribunals.
  • Preparing court files, papers and documentation.
  • Producing court-related documents and correspondence.
  • Updating records and inputting data onto internal systems.
  • Drafting standard letters and documents.
  • Clerking Civil and Family Court hearings, tribunals and proceedings.
  • Responding to general enquiries from court users and members of the public.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong administrative and organisational abilities.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy when handling documents and data.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and computer-based systems.
  • Ability to work professionally within a busy and sometimes demanding environment.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when required.
