We’re looking for a kind, reliable and upbeat Personal Assistant to support a young-at-heart 53-year-old lady living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) to support with morning routines. The role is based approximately a 5-minute walk from Bromley South railway station, with excellent rail links into London. The property is also served by several major bus routes, and free parking is available if you drive.
She’s friendly, has a great sense of humour and enjoys a good chat, so we’re looking for someone who’ll bring a smile to her mornings as well as provide practical support. No previous experience with MND is necessary – the right personality is far more important. If you’re caring, patient, dependable and happy to get stuck in, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re looking for someone who is:

What you’ll be doing:
- Preparing and helping with breakfast (usually cereal)
- Giving medication
- Taking her upstairs to get ready for the day (full support and training provided, with assistance from her partner if required, or using the stairlift and hoists)
- Washing her face, hands and underarms
- Cleaning her teeth
- Getting her dressed (top half only)
- Preparing and feeding her lunch (simple meals such as scrambled eggs or soup – anything more substantial will already be prepared)
- Most importantly, providing friendly company and helping make the morning enjoyable
What’s not required:
- No intimate personal care. Her partner takes care of those aspects, allowing you to focus on helping her start her day comfortably and positively.
