We are seeking a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker to join us as a key part of our Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Service. The post holder will undertake CAMHS assessments of children and young people up to age 18 to inform formulation, diagnosis and recommendations for treatment within a spectrum of mental health presentations.
You will have a caseload, offering evidence based interventions to children and adolescents with complex mental health needs and their families. You will have the ability to deliver a range of evidence based clinical interventions for children and young people and will be supported to train in other treatment modalities.
Develop and maintain close working relationships with members of the team and partnership agencies e.g. Social Services, Education and others is essential. You must demonstrate an interest in multi-agency and multi-disciplinary work and be familiar with evidence-based practice in children's mental health.
There are excellent opportunities for CPD, in service teaching and supervision within the team and the Trust. You must be able to work independently and have good clinical / therapeutic and case management skills to engage this group of young people.
Carry out and coordinate comprehensive, systematic mental health assessments which take account of relevant mental, physical, social, cultural, psychological, spiritual, and environmental factors, in partnership with service user and others through interaction, observation and measurement.
Work collaboratively with other disciplines, service user and their carers to agree a holistic person-centred care plan that addresses the needs identified through assessment. To deliver and evaluate safe, person centred care in partnership with the service user and their carers to support recovery.
To provide educational support to optimise health and wellbeing; promoting self-care where possible, helping people to make choices about their needs and involve their carers where appropriate.
