An exciting opportunity has become available for a Healthcare Assistant/ Therapy Assistant to join our well-established specialist multi-disciplinary team who provide prosthetic rehabilitation services to patients across Sussex with limb loss/ difference for 26.25 hours per week. The role is based at the Sussex Rehabilitation Centre, Brighton General Hospital.
Working within a dynamic team, we are looking for an enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills, and a positive outlook who is keen to develop. There is an opportunity to visit the Sussex Rehabilitation Centre in advance of the interview so you can gain an overview of this interesting and specialist service.

To work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide health care, and support under the direction and supervision of registered staff to patients attending the Outpatients clinics at Sussex Rehabilitation Centre. This includes assisting in the delivery of interventions in the clinic and home environment, treating and discharging patients and reporting all changes in patient status to senior staff. The role also involves providing administrative support to the team.
To deliver holistic care when undertaking interventions to include pressure ulcer prevention advice and care, dementia awareness, observing nutrition and hydration status, falls risks, pain awareness and applying infection control standards.
To undertake non-complex clinical procedures under the guidance of senior team members e.g.: blood pressure monitoring, temperature, pulse, respiration rate, blood glucose tests, wound care, and other tasks according to training and competencies. To recognise their responsibility and accountability in accepting the delegated task. Empowering patients to regain their health and independence in collaboration with other members of the Therapy Team for example supporting with exercise programmes and the practice of ADL tasks.
