Early Intervention Attendance Practitioner

At Patcham High, we know that regular school attendance plays a vital role in student success, wellbeing and future opportunities.

We are committed to supporting every student to attend well, feel connected to school and thrive as part of our community.

We are looking for a passionate, proactive and relationship-driven Early Intervention Attendance Practitioner to join our pastoral and student support team.

This is not a traditional attendance role.

We are looking for someone who can build strong relationships with young people and families, identify concerns early and work alongside students to remove barriers to attendance before they escalated.

You will play an important role in supporting vulnerable students, including those experiencing anxiety, Emotional Based School Avoidance (EBSA), SEND-related barriers and other challenges impacting school attendance.

The role combines daily attendance monitoring and follow-up with meaningful intervention work, family engagement and multi-agency collaboration.

You may be analysing attendance patterns, coordinating first-day response calls, supporting a student reintegrating into school, meeting with families, or working alongside pastoral, safeguarding and SEND teams to put support in place.

If you are passionate about supporting young people and making a difference to students and families, we would love to hear from you.

Located on the outskirts of Brighton, Patcham High is vibrant, proud and successful.

We have an unshakeable faith in the power of education and want the very best for all our students.

The school is values driven and inclusion sits at the centre of all that we do.

We do not turn our back on any child.

Patcham High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.

We welcome applications from all parts of our community as we aspire to have a staff body that matches the social and cultural diversity of our student intake.

We are open to flexible working.

We reserve the right to interview on application should a suitable candidate become available and we have the right to withdraw this advert prior to the closing date.

The closing date for applications: Friday 21st August at 12 noon.
