The Forensic Practitioner provides specialist assessment, risk management, and develops intervention plans with the multi-disciplinary team for people with learning disabilities and/or autism who have complex needs, forensic histories, or identified risks. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder promotes recovery, wellbeing, social inclusion, and community safety through evidence-based, trauma-informed practice, while offering specialist advice, support, and training to clients, carers, and partner agencies.

To improve the lives of people with learning disabilities and/or autism by minimising the impact of their condition through the delivery of excellent services to promote recovery and wellbeing. To be compassionate in meeting the needs of clients and their carers, and practice within a trauma informed framework. To be professionally accountable and responsible for client care, undertaking a range of clinical/therapeutic interventions in clients’ homes and other community settings. To provide specialist assessment and advice to a range of services/organisations regarding the management and care of clients. To promote social inclusion, community access and participation through the provision of client care. To be committed to and take a lead role in activities integral to the Trust’s Quality Improvement System.
