Psychotherapist/Social Worker /Family Therapist/RMN/OT – Mental Health Practitioner (Child Sexual Exploitation/Trauma Service)
Salary: £37,000‑£42,000 (depending on experience) – Location: Somerset & Devon regions
We are seeking a forward‑thinking Mental Health Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team.
The role is embedded within an integrated residential Children’s Service, supporting the emotional well‑being, mental health and placement stability of looked‑after young people who have experienced significant adverse childhood experiences and sexual exploitation.
You will provide a combined clinical consultative and direct therapeutic service for young people placed in community residential settings, including assessment, care planning, supervision for residential and care staff, and direct therapeutic work.

- Candidate Profile
- Experience working with looked‑after children and young people presenting with a range of clinical severity and needs.
- Knowledge of theory and practice of therapeutic interventions with children and young people.
- Assessment, intervention and management of mental health needs, including trauma.
- Partnership working to support agreed placement objectives, care planning and progression, including regular clinical reporting and routine outcome measures.
Essential Requirements
- Registered with a relevant professional body (HCPC, NMC, SWE, BACP).
- Background in mental health and/or experience in CAMHS.
- Qualifications that enable you to offer children therapy when required.
- Strong team player with excellent communication, organisational and time‑management skills.
