Applications are invited for the position of Cook to manage and co-ordinate day to day activities at school kitchens, ensuring a quality service is provided to all customers. You will be responsible for menu planning, portion control, preparation and cooking, administration duties and supervision of staff.
Previous experience of food preparation and cooking for large numbers, supervision, allocation of duties and training would be an advantage, along with Health & Safety, security, administrative duties, specialist and cultural diet requirements, and knowledge of COSHH regulations. An Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate is essential for this post (training will be provided). NVQ 2 or equivalent is desirable.
Working hours will potentially be between 9.00am and 2.00pm, Monday to Friday, term time only. The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post. Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees. An Enhanced with Childrens Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
