We have a rare opportunity to join our excellent Physiotherapy team at the Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital as a Physiotherapy Assistant as a bank worker to manage our weekend workload.
As a Physiotherapy Assistant, you will
- Deliver high quality, effective clinical care under the supervision of our registered physiotherapists on the ward.
- Promote multi-disciplinary working alongside the other clinicians on the ward and within the hospital.
- Assist in the delivery of pre-operative education.
- Assist with the delivery rehabilitation progression alongside the physiotherapy team.
- Assist in safe discharge planning including organising social services input and home equipment if required.
- Ensure that all clinical records are accurately maintained and conform to all legal requirements.
- Provide administrative assistance, as required, to the department which may include the following tasks: Answering telephone enquiries, Booking appointments on to the electronic diary, Inputting charges onto the IT system, Photocopying and scanning documents, Distribution of mail.
- Escort patients within the physiotherapy department and to other departments within the hospital.
- Greet all visitors and ensure professional and effective communication with all patients, visitors and other clinical staff.
- Ensure client's confidentiality is maintained at all times.
- Ensure the department maintains a clean, tidy and safe working environment at all times.
- Be responsible for reviewing and reporting stock level and supplies to ensure the clinical environment is fit for purpose.
To succeed as a Physiotherapy Assistant, you will have
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Health and Social Care and/or Level 3 Qualified Personal Trainer or PT level 3 - CIMSPA or Physio in exercise referrals (desired but not essential)
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting, ideally in a health care support or therapy assistant role, or community based physical activity programmes
- Excellent communication skills
- Leadership & influencing skills
- Motivational and engaging personality
- Passion to make a difference
- Strong organisation skills, with ability to manage time and workload effectively
- The ability to work collaboratively as a team player and share best practice
- Competent computer skills
