As the wards Occupational Therapist, you will have an important role in helping women to:

  • Identify personally meaningful recovery goals.
  • Develop independent living and community skills.
  • Establish healthy, balanced and sustainable routines.
  • Participate in meaningful occupations and therapeutic activity.
  • Prepare for progression, discharge and community reintegration.

Occupational Therapy Directorate

Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 185 Occupational Therapists. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development. Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway. We ensure our occupational therapists have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists.

Occupational Therapy Preceptorship & Induction

We offer a 12 month Occupational Therapy Preceptorship for all newly qualified Occupational Therapists to support and consolidate core Occupational Therapy skills. We also offer a sensory integration preceptorship for those with an interest in sensory integration. All new starters will complete an induction which incorporates service line Occupational Therapy processes as inhouse orientation.

Requirements

  • Hold a degree or postgraduate qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of person-centred and evidence-based occupational therapy practice.
  • Be able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory employment reference checks.
