We manage and maintain over 2,00km of Scotland's trunk road network, tackling just about every imaginable task and working round the clock to help keep Scotland moving.

BEAR Scotland on behalf of Transport Scotland manage over 750 structures as part of the South East trunk road network which includes a number of complex bridges.

Join our South East Bridges Team as a Senior Bridge Engineer in either our Bonnyrigg, South Queensferry or Stepps Office.

We're looking for self-driven team players who are eager to support a broad and varied programme of work.

To succeed, you'll bring strong communication skills, adaptability, and a valid driving licence.

Key Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of bridge engineering schemes
  • Take ownership of project budgets, performance, and programme
  • Manage client relationships and stakeholder engagement
  • Oversee risk assessments and ensure full CDM compliance
  • Prepare tender documentation and support procurement
  • Supervise contractors and ensure work meets technical standards
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and wider team members
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and technical requirement
