The postholder will work within the Inpatient Rehabilitation Service, providing clinical leadership and high-quality psychiatric care to patients with severe and enduring mental illness admitted to Fettle House. Working closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist, resident doctor, multidisciplinary team, and Community Mental Health Rehabilitation Team, the postholder will be responsible for the assessment, treatment, ongoing management, and discharge planning of rehabilitation inpatients. The role includes participating in multidisciplinary reviews, providing supervision and support to junior medical staff, contributing to service development and quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with relevant legal frameworks, including the Mental Health Act. The postholder will also support continuity of care through consultant cross-cover arrangements, contribute to teaching and training activities, and play an active role in clinical governance, service planning, and the delivery of recovery-focused rehabilitation services.
