About the Role

Are you looking for a role where no two days are the same?

We're looking for an enthusiastic, organised and motivated person to join our team at Cornerstone.

Based primarily in our Bishop Auckland Community Shop, you'll play a key role in helping grow our retail sales, promoting our charity through social media, supporting fundraising events, and delivering excellent customer service.

This is much more than a retail position.

You'll be meeting customers, creating engaging online content, representing the charity at community events, and helping us reach more people both in person and online.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Welcoming customers and providing excellent customer service in our Bishop Auckland Community Shop.
  • Selling furniture and homeware both in-store and through our online platforms and social media channels.
  • Taking photographs and creating engaging content to promote products, fundraising activities and the work of the charity.
  • Managing enquiries received in person, by telephone and through social media.
  • Scheduling collections and deliveries with customers, donors, volunteers and staff.
  • Pricing, displaying and merchandising stock to create an attractive shopping environment.
  • Supporting fundraising events, community activities and promotional campaigns.
  • Representing Cornerstone at local events and helping build relationships within the community.
  • Working alongside volunteers and supporting them where required.
  • Assisting with administration, record keeping and general operational tasks.
  • Providing support across other Cornerstone locations when required.

What We're Looking For

  • Friendly, approachable and enjoys working with people.
  • Confident using social media and online selling platforms.
  • Creative, with an eye for photography and presenting products online.
  • Well organised and able to manage a variety of tasks.
  • A confident communicator with excellent customer service skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Flexible and willing to support different locations and events when required.
  • Comfortable undertaking some manual handling duties, including assisting with furniture where necessary.
  • Committed to the values and mission of Cornerstone.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence (essential).
  • Working Pattern

20 hours per week.

Four weekday shifts and one Saturday shift.

Flexibility to support fundraising events, community activities and operational needs, including occasional evenings and weekends.
